TWILIGHT 1205

So Friday, November 21 Twilight opened across the nation. Twilight is the first of a four book saga revolving around a common girl and a very attractive vampire. The book is very entertaining and what every girl wishes for... on some level. So, needless to say, I was pretty excited for this book to be made into a movie. Me and my roommate Kelsie went Thursday night and saw the 1205 showing. First off - if you have a chance to see a movie that you are really excited for at a 1200 showing, do it. I've done it a few times, and it's great. Although work is kinda hard the next day.

So me and Kels lined up about an hour before the movie started. We didn't really need to, since there isn't much going on in Culver City at midnight. There were some great previews that I'm really excited for. As for the movie itself... well, it wasn't all I had imagine. In defense of the movie, what movie is ever as good as the imagination of the reader of the book from which it came? It was entertaining and so fun to see some of my favorite scenes played on screen. But it was not produced at the level I thought it deserved. It's fantasy story. Things that happened could never really happen, so to make it look like it was all real, you need a big budget, a budget this movie did not have. I mean almost everything from the makeup (which looked cakey) to the hair (which was all visiably dyed) and the visual effects (which were anything but smooth). The acting was lacking. The actors are kinda young... the movie was just alright, and not what I was hoping to see.

On Saturday Summit Entertainment announced that they will be doing the sequel - New Moon. I personally think that New Moon and Eclipse need to be combined into one movie. It needs to have a much bigger budget as well. I mean they could do awesome things with the movie with the proper budget and writing. I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

That makes me really sad. I've read all 4 books and totally agree about combining books 2 and 3 into one movie. Less Jacob, more Edward!Jon thinks I will be taken over by some evil force if I see the movie.. I'm doing it anyway. maybe tonight. anyway, looks like you are having fun with lots of concerts! I'm jealous about onerepublic. They are fantastic!
