Why Netflix is ruining my life

I consider myself and pretty avid reader. I'm not entirely sure how many books you need to read in a year to qualify as avid, but I feel I typically read enough to be a self-proclaimed, avid reader. Lately, however, I have had difficulty finding time to finish the one book a month I have from my book club, let alone the additional books I usually find time to read. I blame this on one thing and one thing only - NETFLIX. Netflix has ruined my life.

It all started when Brooke gave me her user name and password to catch up and watch LOST. We all know I have a bit more time on my hands, with not working and all. But I watched the first three seasons while working in 2 weeks and the last two seasons the first week I was unemployed – watching the last 4 episodes the day of season six premiere. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the show and I’m terribly sad the series is over. But there is something addicting about the ability to watch one episode after another, after another – without commercials. It’s fantastic.

If that wasn’t bad enough, my friend Mike gifted me my own subscription for Christmas. That gift expired months ago, but I had to keep it going. Why? BECAUSE I’M ADDICTED. So far this year I have read only 10-12 books but I have watched the complete series of LOST, BONES, and the first five seasons of Buffy, and the first two seasons of Angel, not to mention the innumerable movies I have watched as I fell asleep. I feel that my social life has taken a hit – there have actually been times when I would rather sit in my room watching LOST than socialize with my friends. I do manage to multitask as I watch, but not nearly as well. I read less; I get less done in my day; I have unhealthy obsessions with whatever show I an currently watching…

What will ever become of me?

Why I love this town

In all honesty, this post is meant to make you incredibly jealous of me and life in LA. This week holds just a few examples why I absolutely love living in southern California and more specifically, LOS ANGELES. So I've lived here for about 3 years now and have made a few friends along the way, friends with connections. I started the week off going to Disneyland and seeing the new water show at California Adventure, World of Color (I have a pass, so no connections needed). Tuesday night we had an awesome bonfire including S'Mores. Then, twice this week, I have been on studio lots for parties and screenings, and I must say, I love it.

So Monday me and my roommate headed south to the Happiest Place on Earth. See, the new show - World of Color - opened on the 11th, and I have been itching to see it. So we went to play and then catch the 11 o'clock show before we left. But, I ask, what do you do when there is a earthquake in Mexico a few hundred miles south and it throws off all the ride mechanics? This is when we took the opportunity to play in Pixie Hallow and took the quiz to find out what Disney Character we were... as it turns out, I'm Tink. Then it was time for our show. It was amazing. It was seriously like paint being shot up hundreds of feet in the air and the projections were fantastic. The transitions from songs/scenes from one movie to another could use some work, but it was moving and so cool to watch. If you ever go and see it, I would be sure to get a fast pass to get the priority seating. The angle is better there in the front.

Monday was great, Tuesday we threw a bonfire and Wednesday I was invited to the Disney lot for a Toy Story 3 launch party. My friend Peyton is an imagineer so there's the in. I've been to these lot parties before. It's at the Disney lot around the sound stages and the animation buildings. They have food, face painting, games, photo opts with characters... you get the idea. First thing we do was get our pic with the celebs - Buzz was there for the photo opt but he got switched out for Jesse and Bullseye right when we got to the front. We then got food and played in the games to win some shwag. Me and Ryan (the other guy in the pic) teamed up to race to put together a puzzle. We really should have had it, but came in a very close second. All in all, it was a very good day. I love Disney. You should know this much of me.

Then we come to Saturday and what did I do, you ask, after I finished a day of nannying Holly Hunter's cute boys? Saw a screening of The A-Team on the FOX studio lot. First off I need to give my opinion of the movie - I loved it. It was loud and lots of cussing and things blowing up; not to mention the need to completely suspend your disbelief through pretty much the whole movie. But it was funny and action-packed. But I think the real highlight of the night came when, as we were leaving the lot, we stopped off at the "New York" street (the street on the backlot that looks like a street of New York or any other big, east coast city). For those of you who are fans of the show BONES, no explanation is needed for this pic. But, for those of you who don't watch this amazing show, this is the "Central Perk" of Bones. The only thing that would make it cool is if Emily Deschanel and and David Boreanaz were there too.

So yeah, living in LA has it's perks. I love it.

Will this sort of thing happen a lot?

Last Wednesday I get this call while getting my hair cut. I check the voice mail and find that it was the executive secretary from the ward I'm in; he's calling because the Bishop wants to meet with me. Immediately my stomach drops and I don't want to call back, why? Because my roommate is the Relief Society President and just aged out of the ward; ergo, there is a new need for a RSP. My worst fears were actualized Thursday night when the Bishop extended the calling of RSP.

So what do you do, I ask, when you are newly sustained as RSP and the girl visiting asks to come over to your house for dinner?

Seriously, right after church this girl visiting from Bakersfield (about 2.5/3 hrs east) wants to come over for dinner so they don't have to stop somewhere. Now my attitude is, if you can't make home in 3 hrs without starving, then plan ahead and pack a lunch or be willing to stop off some place and buy something. But whatever, I'm trying to magnify my new calling and tell her I have no idea what we are having for dinner, but sure, why not, come on over for dinner.

So she and her guy-friend came over. My friend Heather pitched in and brought over some food. My roommate made a salad and we ended up having a very nice dinner. So this is all well and good right? What is so bad about that you ask? Well this girl and her friend stayed for about 2.5 hrs just talking about the most random things. Like, for instance, how she used to be 100 lbs lighter. That she has MS, her dad have Parkinson and her brother (which she was trying to get my roommate to agree to date) used to be in shape and employed. Not really selling the family all too well. The conversation just got even more weird and awkward at times, and we didn't know how to hint that we had other things to do. They finally get ready to leave but not before taking all the cookies we had for dessert and bombing our bathroom twice.

So I wonder, will this sort of thing happen a lot with this new calling? Just curious.

An Epic Fail

Ever do something and the exact moment you do it, you realize what you’ve done is not what you intended and at that same moment you can’t do a single thing to change it? This is a tail of an epic fail.

So Thursday night and two friends went to go see “The Last Song.” Can’t go wrong with a girls’ night out to see a Nicolas Sparks novel-turned-movie. The movie was all right, I would have absolutely loved it had they cast someone other starlet other than Miley Cyrus. Really, does she ever close her mouth? Anyway, that’s not the epic fail.

The epic fail happened when I got home and updated my gchat status to “crying headache” (yes, the movie made me cry that much). One friend, we’ll call him Simon, that has not always shown any real concern for me, asked me why I was crying. I told him why, minimal chitchat about the move that caused my crying headache, but that’s it.

I then wanted to express my… let’s say annoyance for lack of a better word, to my other friend who was also online at the time. I open up a new chat window and tell her how “Simon actually asked me why I was crying… since when does he care.” Cue epic fail – the moment I hit enter, I realized that everything I had said, was in fact, sent to my friend Simon.

This is how the conversation went:

me: Simon actually asked me why i was crying

what is that? since when does he care

Simon: ummm, so who are you chatting?

me: uh... yeah that was for emily

sorry

Simon: lol

me: i'm a jerk

haha

sorry

Simon: that's okay.... since when did you care?

stop crying

me: haha

i'll try

So even though it all ended well, a word of caution – check and double check text and IMs before sending.

As of late...

So I don't know what it is about blogging, but I always feel like in order to write, I need to have good news or something great that's been happening... but I don't. I have been wanting to get into writing again anyway, I think I miss it. Maybe I just miss talking and not caring who is listening…

So... like I said, I don't have much going on. I used to work for Cohn & Wolfe… needless to say, I'm not working anymore, which sucks a bit. But I have some leads on new jobs, but nothing has panned out yet. I actually nanny part time for Holly Hunter, yes the actress, which has interesting. She has twin boys that are 4... I used to think it would be cool to have twins - I don't think that anymore. They are great and I love them, but twins are a handful!

Other than the part time nannying gig, I look for jobs and try to figure out what I want to do with my life. I’ve been thinking about going back to school. My parents have offered (a couple of times) to pay for a Masters degree, but I have no idea what I want to get it in. Feel free to weigh in on the matter. It's kind of driving me crazy. I think I would eventually like to teach at some college someday.

Who knows though... just one more thing I have to figure out. Do you ever feel like you figured everything out, made this plan you were going to follow, and then everything goes off track. I totally thought I had things figured out since high school, I had this plan for my life... what do you do when you are nowhere near where you wanted to be?

Good Reads

As many of you know, I've had some extra time on my hands... which has it's ups and downs. One up though, is that when it came time for my family reunion celebrating my parent's 50th anniversary, I was able to go up to Washington for 12 days, not just 4. Check out the blog about the adventure we had in Olympic, Forks, Sequim... but one thing I must share is what I read (yet another up to being unemployed, you can read tons).

Book one of the Seattle trip was The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. First I need to tell how I came to find this book. So a few days before leaving for Seattle my mom asked if I wanted to go to Costco. Now we know that we never pass on a trip to Costco with mom - you're guaranteed to get something. :) So we were there and I had asked my mom if I could get a book for the trip, she of course said yes.

As I wondering around the book tables, I am not finding Time Travelers Wife (Em's pick for Aug) so I was lost as to what to pick for a trip book. Right when I was about to give up and go without a book, some old lady came up besides me. Now this is one thing I love about Costco - the people that go there are all the same, they love to talk. I sear it is a truth universal acknowledged. Anyway. So this sweet old lady comes up to me and asks "Do you love dogs?" I of course said yes. She then handed me this book off the table with a cute dog on the cover. She told me it was funny and a great read and from the point of view of the dog. I was intrigued. Plus, any book that would make this lady talk to a complete stranger and tell her to read it, well, it had to be good.

I started it on my flight from Burbank to Seattle. I cried in the first chapter. I laughed in the second. It is a great book. Makes you reflect on your life, relationships, your pets... man, great read. I hit every major emotion while reading that book, every major one. The story telling is wonderful. Easy to read because Enzo is telling the story in such a fun and playful way. They do touch on serious issues and ways to deal with it. Great book - I recommend you read it. It's worth the time.

So I finished that book in a matter of days, which left me with nothing to read the rest of my trip and on the flight home. Me and my sister went to target and I happened to find The Time Traveler's Wife, so I bought it but later left it at my sisters house without reading a page of it, and yet again I had nothing. That same sister and I went to Borders, to find me another book to read on the way home. She recommended Garden Spell by Sarah Addison Allen. Never heard of her, didn't know what to expect, but I trust my sister and I bought it.

I started this book on the flight home... and got about half way through it. Then I finished it later the next day - less than 24 hrs to finish it. So When I say quick read, it's a quick read. I loved it. Fun theme, playful setting. Love the characters. It's a great summer book filled with magic and love. I'm a sucker for those kinds of things. Read it this summer while outside, you'll love it.

Just a piece of the puzzle

A girl who grew up in a poor family recalls one Christmas when all the family got was a jigsaw puzzle.

Her father picks up a piece of the puzzle and asks his daughter "where does this go?"

The daughter, rather shocked at the silly question, replies, "I don't know."

"Where does it fit?" The dad asks again.

"We haven't put the puzzle together yet, how would I know where it goes?"

The dad then throws the puzzle piece into the fire. As one might imagine, the girl was a little taken aback and shocked.

"Dad, you just ruined the puzzle. Now it will never be complete."

"Never throw away a piece of the puzzle, just because you don't know where it all fits together right now."

So it is with gospel. We know we have the fullness of the Gospel on earth. We know that it's true. We have all the pieces of the puzzle, but we may not know how one piece or another fits. Let's not throw out the piece, or the whole puzzle, just because we don't know now, where each piece fits.

New Favorite Thing

So some people have a hard time picking a favorite ice cream when someone asks them; and who could blame them, I mean. there are so many. But for me, that's easy - Ben & Jerry's Phish Phood. Love it. Marshmellow. Carmel. Fudge Fish. So recently I found that Ben & Jerry make it in Light... it's my new favorite thing.

Vegas Baby!

So to start the year off, me and some friends took a little road trip to Las Vegas. Peyton got a super sweet deal on rooms at the Wynn, so 8 of us drove over friday and stayed two nights...

Now, being non-drinkers and non-gamblers, you might wonder what we did we with our time. We actually had a great time. No drama (and with 3 guys and 5 girls, in close quarters for 2 days, this is surprising). We got in and went to our rooms. We were starving so we called up my friend Brooke (who happens to work at the Wynn) and had her meet us across the street for dinner. We had a great time. Good food, amazing spot in the corner of the restaurant with a great view of the Encore/Wynn and the strip.

After dinner we bought some tickets to "Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax Attraction." It was fun to run around the museum looking at all the celebs in their wax forms. The next day we played about LV, saw the Bellagio water show (which is pretty much my fav thing in Vegas) and were total tourist in Las Vegas. I had been in vegas about the same time 4 years earlier, right after my mission. Me and Brooke had taken a picture then in fron of this same fountain... so we did again. Then we decided that we looked a lot better 4 years ago...

Then we saw David Copperfield - which was a pretty amazing. I just don't understand how he does his tricks... seriously. HOW? Anyway, it was a super cool show. Of course no trip to Vegas would be complete without Brooke doing something to my hair. :) this time we went lighter. Everyone seemed to like it. I know I did.

I feel pretty good about this year... I really do.

Out with the old... in with the new

Since I've been a serious slacker in blogging lately, let me catch you up on the year's end and beginning.

So my friend Jeff (from summer 07) came to visit for New Year's Eve. I haven't seen him since he left to go back to school Aug 2007... You know how sometimes when you meet up old friends, all you end up talking about is old times? I've run into this a few times with high school and mission friends, and it gets old. I mean all you talk about is old memories and you make no new ones. Well, it wasn't like that meeting up with Jeff. After a short time of catching up, it was like old times. Laughing and joking - fun. 2008 wasn't that great of a year. Don't get me wrong - landing a job that I actually like was pretty great. But all things personal kinda sucked in 08. I moved to one of the second largest city in the county and I've never felt more alone. I mean I have a roommate that I love, even when she drives me crazy - I really do love you Kels. Anyway, getting back to my point, after a hard year of crappiness, it was sooo great to be reminded of great friends I've had and have - even if they don't live in the same city as me.

So back to my year's end - Seeing Jeff was great. We (a bunch of my friends I made in Glendale) had a party. Good times really. Then we headed over to a friends house and spent the night there. She lives in Pasadena and really close to the parade route. So we spent the night and then walked down to the parade route and watch the Rose Parade. I've never done it before and it was pretty cool. But not something I need to make a tradition. Here is a pic of us at the parade.
It was a beautiful day, great way to start the new year, so we thought that we should hit the beach... we when I say we, I mean Jeff, who has been in Utah for months. Well the beach was a bust and freezing cold.

Anyway - the start of my year has been fantastic and I'm actually really excited for 2009!!!

this one's for em...

So I told Em that I had decorated my tree last week and she wanted to see it. It's a really beautiful tree; see my roommate Keslie is a decorator. Anything from a room to person, she makes things look better. So of course I petitioned her advise and influence when decorating my brand new fake Christmas tree that I got from Target for $49.99.

My mom had supplied me with lights (which I no longer needed since the tree I purchased came with lights on it... not sure what I'll have to when when the lights start going out on the tree, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it) and some ornament to get things started. We went back to Target and picked out a some more ornaments and ribbon to finish it off and headed home. So Kelsie busily gets to work, whipping up all these bows, finishing off with one giant one for the top. Trees like this always remind me of the tree in the living room at home. My mom decorates the fancy tree with ribbons, beads and hand-made bows. I wanted everything to be red and silver, which I thought would look nice against a green tree and white lights. I try to mimic what my mom does... she's a pretty good example.

Anyway. So Kels puts on the all the bows and wraps the tree in ribbon - so I figure that it's free game to start decorating. But see, this is my fear of Christmas tree decorating kick in - I don't want to mess it up. But since there are only two colors, not kids or dogs to hide the big, glass pretty ones, I thought you can't go wrong... Well, I had put on maybe half a dozen ornaments when my roommate so graciously tells me that I did it wrong, I wasn't thinking in triangles and she proceeds to remove my ornaments and moves it to a new locations on the tree. I didn't help out much more after that. I let her think in triangles and finish off the tree. I think the tree is better for it.

Here is us by our tree before we had to go to the ward Christmas party... which, true be told, wasn't much fun...

Be Thankful

So last weekend I went home for Thanksgiving. It was an amazingly good weekend. Over the course of the weekend, I found that there are three things that I am extremely grateful for.

1. Friends

So my friend Peyton came down for Thanksgiving, we left LA and headed down to SD Wednesday afternoon. We stopped off at Disneyland on the way down, rode the new Toy Story ride at DCA (which is soooo much fun) and then took a walk down Main St at Disneyland. The drive down was very nice and we had some really good conversations. Friday morning Andrew and Michelle drove down early and got to my house about 8 am. We took my niece and nephew to see Bolt in 3D Friday and Saturday we all played around the Zoo. We had a blast. This is us waiting for the bus ride. We had a great time running around the zoo and checking out the elephants, polar bears, meerkats and pandas. There is nothing like hanging out with friends and just being dorks. At night we played games with my brother Tom and his wife Amber. Having good friends is priceless. Friends you can be yourself with, friends that share your same beliefs and have great conversations. I feel like I haven't had that in a while, so it was really great to have a weekend full of that.

2. Family

I have an amazing family. It starts with my grandma, who turned 100 just a month ago. Then I have parents that I don't deserve. They will do anything to help out their kids any way possible. Like me and my car and finances. They are there, ready to help. My siblings, even with the age span, are close and we have a good time together. Lots of families don't get that when they are just years apart, and not decades. My family is amazing and examples to me.

3. The Gospel

So as if my weekend wasn't good enough with good friends, amazing family and awesome memories I went to church Sunday to my parent's ward. The speakers they had we all new members, sharing their stories about choosing the right and their decision to join the Church. It was great to hear their stories and reminded me why I love this gospel. What a great time we live in - to have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. There is so much that I have that I am thankful for, and my membership int the Church if Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is number 1. It's the most important thing in my life.

7 random things

So my friend Rebecca tagged me and in turn I share 7 random things about me... so here goes.

1. I have been tied up and left outside in a place no one could find me... for a long while.

2. I elbowed a guy in the nose and he whimpered... he tried to take my ball, and that's not cool with me.

3. I'll read any, ANY book that is about Mr Darcy - spin off, sequel, modern day adaptation...

4. I can play THE GAME with emily over and over again and never get board.

5. I have fallen down a half flight of stairs.

6. A video of me dancing in a bathing suit at the age of 6 was shown to my entire school my senior year.

7. If a question is asked that has a numerical answer, I'll say 7 without even thinking about it.

So I realize that these things are all kinda embarrassing, oh well. I tag Emily, Brooke, Jessica, Michelle and Diana. Now it's your turn.

TWILIGHT 1205

So Friday, November 21 Twilight opened across the nation. Twilight is the first of a four book saga revolving around a common girl and a very attractive vampire. The book is very entertaining and what every girl wishes for... on some level. So, needless to say, I was pretty excited for this book to be made into a movie. Me and my roommate Kelsie went Thursday night and saw the 1205 showing. First off - if you have a chance to see a movie that you are really excited for at a 1200 showing, do it. I've done it a few times, and it's great. Although work is kinda hard the next day.

So me and Kels lined up about an hour before the movie started. We didn't really need to, since there isn't much going on in Culver City at midnight. There were some great previews that I'm really excited for. As for the movie itself... well, it wasn't all I had imagine. In defense of the movie, what movie is ever as good as the imagination of the reader of the book from which it came? It was entertaining and so fun to see some of my favorite scenes played on screen. But it was not produced at the level I thought it deserved. It's fantasy story. Things that happened could never really happen, so to make it look like it was all real, you need a big budget, a budget this movie did not have. I mean almost everything from the makeup (which looked cakey) to the hair (which was all visiably dyed) and the visual effects (which were anything but smooth). The acting was lacking. The actors are kinda young... the movie was just alright, and not what I was hoping to see.

On Saturday Summit Entertainment announced that they will be doing the sequel - New Moon. I personally think that New Moon and Eclipse need to be combined into one movie. It needs to have a much bigger budget as well. I mean they could do awesome things with the movie with the proper budget and writing. I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

Good Times... Good Concerts

OK, so last weekend I got to go to a super sweet concert with my friend Mike; we saw OneRepublic at the Palladium in Hollywood. It was a great night, I mean we even had rock star parking - and in Hollywood, that doesn't always happen.

It was an amazing show... minus the three bands we had to sit through. I mean they were good, but THREE BANDS?!? There was the Hush Sound, Spill Canvas, and Augustana (the lead singer was totally on something). But for the most part, they were all pretty good.

We had pretty good spots, although some punks tried to stand in front of us. So I may have done some unnecessary screaming... they slowly moved to the side, which gave us (and our new friends behind us) a better view.

So OneRepublic came one - amazing. I liked their CD, but they were even better live. such energy - and the talent, man! the cello was fantastic, so was the guitarist. And, of course, Ryan Tedder was amazing!!!

Two week before that, I went to the House of Blues West Hollywood and saw Matt Nathanson. I went with two friends - Shana and Heidi.
The first time I ever met Shana and Heidi was at a Lifehouse concert at the Wiltern, where Matt Nathanson open. Became great friends and HUGE fans of Matt. Here is a pic of me, Heidi and Shana...

So when he was playing in LA again, we had to go. Plus, I had never been to the House of Blues - any House o Blues. It was a great show. And we had a lot of fun sneakying in cameras... although Matt doesn't stay still long enough to take a good pic.

I love concerts, great bands, and new music... sooo if you have any suggestions on new bands I need to check out. Let me know. PS - I'm soooooo excited for the Killers new album. Who isn't right?!?

No, there is an elephant in the way

OK, last one, then I'm off to bed. But my coworker, Claire, sent me this email and I just have to share it. The subject was how to fail a test with dignity. I just wish I had answered my test questions like these kids... just a shame I always knew the answer so I never really had to make one up... RIIIIGHT! Enjoy.

Love Story

Ok for those of you who like country - or any really good song - listen to Love Song by Taylor Swift. It's just so cute and upbeat. I mean you can't help but dance along and be in a happy mood. The whole CD is good, Brooke gave it to me - THANKS BROOKE - but Love Song is just so is pretty much what every girl has hoped for. Some of them got it, some are still waiting for it. Either way, it's a great song.

We were both young when I first saw you.
I close my eyes and the flashback starts:
I'm standing there on a balcony in summer air.

See the lights, see the party, the ball gowns.
See you make your way through the crowd
and say hello;

Little did I know
That you were Romeo; you were throwing pebbles,
And my daddy said, "Stay away from Juliet."
And I was crying on the staircase,
begging you, 'Please, don't go.'"

And I said,
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story - baby just say 'Yes.'"

So I sneak out to the garden to see you.
We keep quiet 'cause we're dead if they knew.
So close your eyes; escape this town for a little while.
'Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said "Stay away from Juliet,"
But you were everything to me; I was begging you, 'Please, don't go,'"

And I said,
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story - baby just say 'Yes.'

Romeo save me - they're tryin' to tell me how to feel;
This love is difficult, but it's so real.
Don't be afraid; we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story - baby just say "Yes.'"

Oh.

I got tired of waiting,
Wondering if you were ever comin' around.
My faith in you was fading
When I met you on the outskirts of town,

And I said,
"Romeo save me - I've been feeling so alone.
I keep waiting for you but you never come.
Is this in my head? I don't know what to think-"

He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said,
"Marry me, Juliet - you'll never have to be alone.
I love you and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad - go pick out a white dress;
It's a love story - baby just say 'Yes.'"

Oh, oh.

We were both young when I first saw you...

great performance at the CMAs

Dreaming Aloud

So if you know me, you know that I never, never remember my dreams. So when I woke up today and remembered my dream, I thought I should share - I think it's a pretty good one.

So picture me and my two friends - Erin and Michelle - in what would closest related to a pet shop but for babies... yup babies. Or like the nursery at a hospital where you can look over all the babies and pick one you wanted to adopt and take home. Just shelf after shelf of imported babies, domestic babies, all two and younger. So me and my two friends were looking over what babies we were gonna adopt, discussing it like it was a new shirt we were gonna buy. So I had a few picked out... like 10. Then my friend Mike, who I was apparently dating in this dream came in, apparently this baby buying store was in a mall somewhere and he had met up with us. So some how, who knows how, I mean it is a dream so nothing makes sense, but Mike realizes that one of the babies I was going to adopt was in fact mine. Shocker right? Apparently I have been hiding it all this time. The real kicker is that the father was our mutual friend - Peyton. For some reason I don't think Peyton knew about our love child... anyway. Just then Peyton comes in and it all goes down. Mike is mad at me and Peyton and I think storms out... not sure if we ever worked that out. Maybe he can't handle that I've lied to him for so long and he leaves me. But somehow, who knows why, it comes out that Peyton and Erin were dating, but that Peyton has been cheating on her with Michelle... or he was dating Michelle and cheating with Erin, who knows. And come to think of it, I'm not too sure I know how that ended up either.

I like to think that my dream is all Mike's fault. See right before going to bed, Mike gave me the update on a show we both watch, but I've missed a few episodes... it's all about betrayal and who's cheating with whom and whatever... my very dear friend Brooke has a different analysis. That things in the Mormon world is supposed to be easy. You find the love of your life, get married, and pick out the baby you want. Just like that. She also thinks the dream means that I want to date both Peyton and Mike - for different reasons. Mike is the better choice, but somehow Peyton come back like a bad 80s remake to mess up all chances of a good thing. I still think I'm right and it was all a matter of suggestion and I was replaying a fabulous show on the CW.

I never found out what happen to me and Mike... or if the girls duked it out over Peyton. Maybe I'll find out tonight. Don't you think that would be so cool, if you could just continue a good, weird, funny dream to find out how it all ends. Either way, I had a way cute baby.

one great weekend

OK, so this past weekend was a really good one. Friday a bunch of the Glendale peeps go together and had a BOND Party. Peyton assigned us all secret agent names and had trivia/games. To top off the night we saw the newest Bond moving - Quantum of Solace. If you're expecting a really good squeal to Casino Royale... don't. The writing and character development was lacking. Action was pretty good, cars were beautiful, but the plot seemed rushed. But still entertaining and I think we all had a good time.

Saturday night I got to see one of my new favorite bands- OneRepublic with Mike. After waiting a listening to a few too many bands, OneRepublic came on and it was a great show! I even caught the drum stick that was thrown into the audience (with the help of mike deflecting it...). It was a great night... wow. I'll write more later, I just wanted to share that for now. :)
